S. MATTHEW'S SUNDAY SCHOOL.
> ■ ANNUAL PRESENTATION OF PRIZES. The annual prize-giving of the S. Matthew's Sunday School took place last night. There was a large attendance of parents, friends and children in spite of the wet night. The Vicar (the Rev. A. M. Johnson) occupied the chair, and spoke of the present work of the Sunday School. It was now in a prosperous condition, and good work was done in all classes, ranging from infants to young men and women. The newlyformed committee of teachers and elder scholars had great work ahead oi them, and were intending to do it. Miss Robinson had taken the secretaryship. He thanked all, superintendent, teachers and friends, for their devoted loyalty to their work. He referred to the jubilee of the Church of England in New Zealand, which was being commemorated that day, and drew some important lessons from it.

Special prizes: 'Guy Wagg, J. Ewington. Class III.: K. Braddork, J. Darvill, Clarence La Roche. Class IV.: S. Sreeves, E. Jepson, W. Wood. Class V.: L. Cress, E. Perry, V. Jones.. Class VI.: J. Braddock, C. Moore, R. Peterson. Class VII.: D. de Castro, M. Eton, H. McCurdy. Girls —Bible classes: Senior, Misses J. Robins, A. Murray, S. Winzenberg, E. Jepson; juniors, Misses Eva Ewington, A. Darvill. E. Murray. Class I.: F. Ewington, G. Petersen, H. Fuller. Class. Tl.: N. Hill, 0. Ross, M.Dixon. Class 111. : A- Perry, R. Hampton, M. Hadley. Class IV.: EffieCant, Eunice Cant, M. Wickens. Class VI.: Eileen Ewington, M. La Koche, V. Hoffeins. flass VI.: E. Thompson, Eila Perry. *A special prize for an essay was awarded to Miss Mary Langdon. Prizes were also given to all the regular members of the infant division, 45 in all.
A musical programme arranged by Miss Fuller was then rendered, and included the following items: — Pianoforte duets by C. and Muriel La Roche and Hazel Fuller and A. Snelgrove; songs were given by Misses V. Edwards, E. Jepson and Eileen Ewington, and George Wagg; recitations by Misses R. Hooper and M. Wagg; and pianoforte solo by Leo von Keisenberg.
A hearty cheer was given for the teachers, and the chairman then spoke of the good work being done in the Sowers' Band, under Mrs Fannin, and Mr S. Earee and Mr Snelgrove, on behalf of the teachers, feelingly asked for co-operation from the parents in the work of training the children of the church.
