BIDEFORD.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Friday. Several stations here have changed hand lately, at veiy satisfactory prices, the latest being the Spring Hill Station, owned by Mr C. A. Cameron. This splendid estate was recognised as one of the finest fattening runs in the district. The purcnaser was Mr Cark, well-known in the South Wairarapa. What might have terminated in a very serious accident befel one of Mr F.Chapman's little boys. While on his way to school, with his brothers, they found some small pieces of dynamite, which had been strewn about by ; some bridge-builders. Placing a piece on a log, the little boy applied a stone to it, the consequences being N that the dynamite exploded, blowing the flesh all off one of his little fingors, and all the finger-nails. The boy was taken at once to Masterton to a doctor. He is reported to be getting along as well as can be expected. There was a stiff frost here last night. It should help to dry up our ■ roads providing we get a fine day to help us along.
