A PECULIAR INCIDENT.

On May 31st, in lat. 21.32 east, long. 173.23 west, the barque Dram; meressen, from Maden Island to Auckland, experienced a sudden shock from stem to stern, completely stopping the vessel for four or five minutes. A very loud report was heard in the distance.
