TERRIBLE TRAM FATALITY.
A MAN KILLED PATHETIC INCIDENT. By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, June 10. A terrible tram fatality occurred in the city, to-night, the victim being Harry Elder, a man about 40 yeai s of age. He was a painter, and re sided at Freeman's Bay. It is believed he was a passenger by .the tramcar which ran over him, and that he got off at the corner of Victoria and Nelson Streets, where the accident occurred. He was knocked down, and dragged about twenty yards. When extricated, a work that took about fifteen minutes, he was found to be dead, the body being terribly mutilated. A pathetic feature of the affair was that a son of the victim, quite unconscious that it was his father, assisted to extricate the body.
