TIMBER WORKERS' DISPUTE.
By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, June 7. The Conciliation Board has filed its recommendations in the timber workers' dispute. The recommendations affect some three hundred employers, whose places of business extend over nearly half the North Island. The most noticeable feature of the recommendation is the proposed increase of wages to unskilled workers. The minimum wage under the current award is 7s per day. The Board recommend an increase to £2 8s per week, or Is Id per hour. Outside the city of Wellington 45 hours shall constitute a week's work.
