SUGAR IN WINL'. Received June 4, 8.23 a.m. PARIS, June 3. Two hundred thousand people participated in an anti-Government demonstration at Nimes, eighty miles from Marseilles, on account of a Ministerial Bill. This measure prohibits the use of sugar which will enable wine of a lower alcoholic strength to compete with the stronger wine produced in the South of France; but it does not touch adulteration from watering, blending, or chemical treatment.
