RIFLE SHOOTING.
THE BOLTON CUP. ! The Maaterton Mounted - Rifles visited Eketahuna, yesterday, to fire a match against the local Club for the Bolton Cup. ' Neither the Heretaunga nor the Pahiatua Mounted Rifle Corps sent a team. The weather was fine, but there was a tricky wind blowing. Eketahuna, who won the Cup last year, still retain it as they won yesterday by 62 points, the scores being—Eketahuna, 546; Masterton, 484. Last year Eketahuna won, with a score of 577 points, and the year previous Pahiatua won with 517 points. In the evening the visitors were hospitably entertained by the Eketahuna Corps at a smoke concert. A number of toasts were honoured. Vocal items were rendered by Captain-Chaplain Kitcat, Captain < Page, Sergeant-Major Collier, Sergeant Farmer, Trooper Cheshire and Mr von Reden.
