FATAL TRAM ACCIDENT.

CHRISTCHURCH, June 3

An elderly man, named Robert Evans, was run over by a steam tram in Cathedral Square, to-day. The man was attempting to board a special tram for Sumner, and missed his footing and fell beneath the car and was shockingly mutilated. He died in a few minutes.

The deceased hsfd been employed at the Addington Workshops. He leaves a widow and seven children.
