MAURICEVILLE.
'(From Our Own Correspondent.) Friday. The winter has begun in real ■earliest. Very bad weather set in •ontraiiday afternoon, and has continued till to-day. A strong southwest gale drove heavy clouds of snow before it all Monday, since when heavy sleet and rain have continued with a steady temperature of 35deg. The new public Hall, contracted for by Mr McKenzie, is approaching completion, and is to be inaugurated •on Monday, June 3rd, by a fancy dress ball. Our ladies are all busy preparing for the festive occasion, which isjooiced forward to with great interest. -^ There is a rumour that the Education Board has decided to huild a teacher's residence in Mauriceville in the immediate future. Judging from past experiences of that august body's proceedings, I may safely predict-that such a project, if at Jail dqrftajhplated, will be put into execution Some time between 1908 and 1910! __
