MASTERTON RACING CLUB.

MEETING OF STEWARDS. The Stewards of the Masterton Racing Club held their monthly meeting on Saturday, there being present —Messrs C. F. Vallance (chairman), D. McLaciilan, A. J. Welch, W. Piatt, C. A. Pownall, J. lorns, W. Cooper, C.H. Smith, J. Macara, A. G. Pilmer, R. Buick, and D. Caselberg. The treasurer reported a credit balance of £142 13s 3d. Mr A. H. Wrightson wrote giving the Club permission to cut a drain at the back of the course. The subcommittee already appointed was authorised to supervise the construction of the drain. Mr W. E. Welch wrote resigning his position as custodian of the course. The resignation was accepted and Mr H. Welch was appointed to carry out the duties temporarily. A letter from Mr D. M. Robertson, of Christchurch, with regard to supplying a double totalisator, was received.
