METEOROLOGICAL.

Mr J. C. Boddington reports that the rainfall registered at Upper Plain for the 24- hours up to 9 a.m. on Friday w.; j 4 points. Rain fell at Upper Plain on 29 days in May, which constitutes a record for any month. The highest recorded rainfall in 24 hours was 2.85 inches on the 2nd, and 2.16 inches on the Ist. The lowest record was 1 point on the 6th, 22nd. 23rd and 27th. The total rainfall for the month was 9.62 inches against 3.59, 5.25, and 5.69 for 1904, 1905 and 1906, respectively. The total for the first five months of the present year is 29.79 inches, as against 15.44, 14.85 and 20.33 inches for the corresponding periods in 1904, 1905 and 1906.
