I fully realise the importance of the Trust and its vast luture value to the Masierton District. If 1 have the honour to be elected, I will give my best efforts toconterve the interests and funds of the Trust, so that the intentions of the original founders may be carried out, namely:—To expend the income for the prom jtion of higher education, and of ether objects of utility to the town. If the resources of the Trust are carefully fostered and its affairß conduottd ou buoiness-llke iinet, Masterton should become the centre for higher education, and be a residential town for country settlers who wisu to give their children the advantages of a college and technical education. If I find the Trustees have no power to pa) the Government any monies for difference of values (if any), I will be in favour of bringing matters to a finality, to that no time be lost in the Government building an up-to-date Courthouse on their own land.
