The team will in all probability play a team from Wellington, on June 3rd, on the Master ton* Showgrounds. The following team has been selected to represent Albion Seniors against Eketahuna, on the Masterton Showgrounds, this afternoon:—Cole, | Percy, Dunn, Coyle, Long, Dew, | Logan, Bentley, Hunter, Kemptori, Griffith, D. Reeves, C. Bentley, R. Reeves and another. The match will commence at 3.30 o'clock. THE PROFESSIONAL TEAM. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, May 29. The Dunedin Star says that a letter, written Inst January 28th, to the the Northern Union, in which it was promised that a better combination than the original "All Blacks" would be sent Home, eminated from a Wellington player, who looked forward to becoming assistant manager of the team and advertising agent, press reporter, etc., and now his much-cherished hope is doubtful of realisation. What took place may thus be outlined:—According to the Star's information, the team was.to consist of 25 players, and they would play for six months, as against three months by the "All Blacks." Then there was a chance of thenf playing there several seasons disjoining some of the clubs at home. could put in the summer by appearing at some of the big sports meetings, and they might possibly take from £IO,OOO to £20,000 their first football season. "This player, who took upon himself the work of opening up | negotiations/' say 3 the Star, "and 'another,' had a good team in their i ye. At this time many of our most prominent players (some of them "All Blacks") were all prepared to go, but there were a few whom it was not considered wise to approach right away. The only trouble was that there might be too many appearing. The next point that had to be considered was the question of financing the team Home, but this was to be easily fixed up by the wealthier players putting down sufficient money, some £2OO and Jothers £SO, to see them all through. All profits at Home were to be cut up among players. If the full amount could not be raised, the issuing'of bentures would see everything all ri*ht. The quickest route- Home would be through the Suezi Canal, and then again itj would be more enjoyable, but it also had .another advantage. Those members of the team selected to visit Australia next month could take part in the matches there and days after the last match could catch the Orient Jliner for Home. All thejfinal arrangements could be fixed up in Christchurch

next month 6n the occasion of the North v. South Island match. But! this is where the New Zealand Union stepped in with their bombshell declaration' At which was to be held in Christchurch, the manager was to be appointed and the selec ■ tion committee elected, and the team chosen from the thirty who were willing to go." By Telegraph—Press Association. WANGANUI, May 29. It has been generally reported that H. L. Abbott, of Wanganui, a member of the "All Black" team had refused to sign the affidavit in reference to professionalism. The Secretary of the Wanganui Rugby Union, to-night, ' wired to the Secretary of the New Zealand Rugby Union as follows:—"Abbott has been ill. I have now got his affidavit, and am forwarding it tc-day." WELLINGTON v. WAIRARAPA. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, May 29.
