RACING.
Acceptances for all handicap events and entries for the Maiden Trot, at the South Wairarapa Charitable Trotting Club's meeting, will close this (Thursday) evening, at 9 o'clock, at the Club Hotel, Greytown. The well-known Feilding jockey, W. Young, had a really good innings last week. Out of the four hurdle races at Wanganui he succeeded in winning three, while on Saturday, playing football for the Feilding Juniors against Kia Toa he scored the only try for his side, and thus practically obtained another win—for his side. (From Our London Correspondent.) LONDON, April 13. Australasians were "all.there" in the Newbury Cup, of 1,250 sovs, decided on Saturday (Cup value 50 sovs, specie, second 125 sovs, third 50 sovs). The Cup was won by the Australian-bred Dalkeith, by Seneschal-Jiisperance. An Australian supplied the runner-up in Mr Lionel Robinson's Larino, trained by Brewer, and run by the Australian, Wooton. Leslie Hewitt, the New Zealander, came third with Noctuiform another Australasian horse. Hewitt also rode in the Granby Plate and the Juvenile Selling Plate.
