SHORTAGE OF SHEEP TRUCKS.
By Telegraph—Press Association.
PALMERSTON N., May .29,
A meeting of delegates from both coasts, representing producers, A. and P. Societies, shippers and freezing companfes, was held to-night to consider the inconvenience caused hy the shortage of sheep trucks. It was resolved that, seeing that the fat sheep and lamb trade is the only harvest for many, it is essential that they must be trucked to freezing works as soon as possible; that the Minister of Railways be asked to provide further trucks so that there should be no delay when shipping stock at stations; that a much better system could be adopted at country stations,' and that 48 hours'notice should be given in the event of trucks not being readywhen ordered. It was decided that copies of the resolutions should be sent to the Minister of Railways and also to several members of the ! House so that they can make representations in the event of the request not being acceded to.
