DRAMATIC ENTERTAINMENT.

There was a good attendance at the Town 'Hall, last evening, when, an entertainment was given in aid of the Y.M.C.A. Three pieces were ■ staged, viz.. "A Pair of Lunatics," "The Two Swindlers," and "The Blind Beggars." The acting was warmly applauded by the audience. It the humourous dualogue "A Pair of Lunatics," the characters were sustained by: Miss Nellie Joy (Clara Manners) and Mr Sydney Earee (Captain Fielding). Both carried out their parts well. In the "Two Swindlers." Mr Fred Todd as Mr Drawcork (landlord of the King's Head) was capital. In the role of Mrs Curl (wife of a barber) Miss, Bessie Joy showed to advantage, while Mr S. Earee acted the part of Tom (a waiter) in fine style. The other characters in the piece were in the capable hands of Messrs E. Burrows, G. Rees, and A. Rees. In the concluding piece "The Blind Beggars," the characters of Jack Morgan and Buffles were well sustained by Messrs S. Earee and Stephens. Altogether the entertainment was an enjoyable one, and the ' audience were frequent in their applause. A number of musical items were very well rendered by an orchestra.
