THE HUMAN HEARTS COMPANY.
The powerful American comedydrama, "Human Hearts," which Mr Edwin Geach's new dramatic organisation wijl present on Monday and Tuesday (by special arrangementswith Mr J. C. Williamson) at the' Town Hall, has proved for yeaVs past in America a unique success in the sphere of melodrama. It is said its! strength lies in at least three fine characters, and domestic qualities which make it above all else a woman's play. The world knows of the success of such popular plays as "The Silver King" and "East Lynne," and it. is claimed for, th& drama, "Human Hearts," that it is; equal in sympathy and interest to< these renowned successes. A story set in the hills of the Arkansas country, vibrating with stern realities of life and rugged simplicity is evolved in the course of the four acts disclosed. The story of the misjudged Tom Logan, his unfortunate marriage,, his love for his child, and his eventual triumph over those who brought about his downfall, mayonly be the old, old story, but it is all set in a framework of such excellent characterisation "and atmosphere that it lives afresh. Mr Hal Reid, the author, is one of the foremost American dramatists of the day. The company Mr Geach has engaged is an unusually strong one, headed by the English actor, Mr Ernest Leicester, and supported by English and American artists, including Messrs George R. Montford, Dundas Walker, A. Lawton, G. McKenzie, C. M. Berkeley, Eric Vallange, Oswald Ford, and Mesdames E. Guildford Quin, Aggie Grey, May Hesford, Little Alma Palmer, and Miss Valentine Sidney. The box plan is now open at Miss Rive's.
