HARNESSING THE WAIMAKIRIRI.
By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, May 20. The City Council, to-nigh 4- , approved of the scheme of the City Engineer (Mr A. D. Robson) for obtaining electrical power by harnessing the Waimakiriri River, and a special committee was appointed to obtain an expert report on the scheme and promote necessary legislation.
