NATIVE EDITOR SENT TO GAOL. Received May 17, 9.24 a.m: " I CALCUTTA, May 16. A sensation has been created in the Punjab owing to Sir Denzil Ibbetson (Lieut-.Governor of the Punjab) being granted six months' leave of absence to undergo an operation. The native editor of Indian Home Rule, published at Bombay, has been sentenced to a year's imprisonment for seditious^articles. LOYAL MOHAMMEDANS. Received May 17, 9.42 p.m. CALCUTTA, May 17. The Mohammedans throughout India are following the Mohammedan gatherings at Lahore in April, and are holding meetings denouncing the seditious attitude of the dregs of the Hindu population, and re-affirming loyalty to the British.
