RISE IN THE PRICE OF FLOUR.
By Telegraph—Press Association. DUNEDIN, May 16. The Otago Daily Times states that the Directors of the New Zealand Flourmillers' Association, at their ordinary monthly meeting held in Christchurch, decided to advance the price of flour by another 10s per ton, making a total rise of £1 per ton within a week. The reason for this rise is obviously the advance in the price of flour in the Commonwealth,' thus making importations from that source prohibitive. It has matter of common knowledge that the possibility of importation of Australian flour has been the factor militating against any advance in the Nsw Zealand commodity despite the gradual hardening of the wheat market. Now, however, that wheat is hardening all over the world, an advance has been established- in Australia and should the excitement continue the outlook is for higher prices for flour and bread throughout the winter. ,
