Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report as follows en their Pahiatua stock sale, held on Tuesday: —Sheep came forward in excess of advertised numbers, a ' large yarding meeting a ready sale, competition being keen throughout, with; prices in vendors' favour. A small lot of breeding ewes, bred by the Balfour Estate r. ade 20s. An almost full yarding of cattle sold at prices in excess cI those ruling of late, good steers with condition being mainly sought after. We quote Cattle: Forward bullocks £5 5s Gd, three year f id steers £4 5s to £4 16s, two year old steers £2 5s to £4, fat cows £3 to £5, store cows 30s to £2 10s, weaners 13s. Sheep: Breeding ewes 13s lid to lGs 6d and up to ISs Id and 20s for good skinned sorts in good order, store weaners 16s 6d to His 7d, good hoggets 14s to 14s 7d,. others 10s to 12s, culls 6s to 8s 9d, low conditioned store ewes 10s. Messrs Abraham and Williapis, Ltd., report on their Masterton stock sale a3 follows: —In sheep a heavy yarding was submitted to a good attendance of buyers. Competition for all clasess, except poor sorts of ewes in lamb, was keen, and prices showed an increase on those ruling at late sales. Several lots of extra good quality lambs were offered, and we had no difficulty in topping the market so far this season. All wethers submitted met with a ready sale, as did empty ewes fit for t turnip. The cattle yarded
were mixed sorts, and although! thabetter quality in all classes sold; at. full rates, inferior lots were hard! to quit. We quote: —Sheep:: Good; turnip wethers 17s to 17s 7d,.fafc ewes (best) 18s, others 14s 10d to lsa 9d, fat and forward ewes 13s to 14a lOd, store ewes 9s to lis, ewes im lamb (medium) lis to 13s, besfc, lambs 15s to 15s Bd, others lis 3d to. 14s 4d, medium sorts 9s to 10s 6d„ ewe lambs 12s 6d to 13s 2d. Cattle:. Fat cows £3 10s to £4 Bs, cows and; calves £2 18s, to £3 7s 6d, store cows 30s to £2 ss, cows in cal£ £2 5s to £3 7s 6d, heifers in calf £2.10s to £3, 18 months steers £2 to £2-Bs, 2i year steers £3 to £3 12s Gd, bullocks £4 5s to £5 ss. Pigs: Slips, 9s, weaners 4s to 6s.
