TARANAKI BY-ELECTION.
COMPARATIVE FIGURJ3S. By Telegraph—Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, May 15. An analysis of yesterday's poll figures shows that 4,628 votes were polled against 5,160 at the general election, when the four Liberal candidates polled 2,585 town and suburban votes to the Opposition's 818, and 860 in the country to the Opposition's 897. On this occasion the two Government candidates /polled 2,124 town and 513 country votes to the Opposition's 1,015 town and 976 country votes.
