The Eketahuna Club having 'entered • a team for the Thursday Rugby Union's Senior competition, ■the fixtures have had to be rearranged as follows: — May 16th—Albion v. Liberals, at Greytown,; Rover B v. Eketahuna, at Masterton; Rover A a bye. May 23rd—Albion v. Rover A, at Masterton; Eketahuna v. Liberals; Rover B a bye. May 30th. —Albion v. Eketahuna, at Masterton; Rover Av. Rover B, at Carterton; Liberals a bye. June lath.— Eketahuna v. Rover A, at Masterton; Rover B v. Liberals, at Carterton; Albion a bye. NORTH v. SOUTH, JBy Telegraphr-Press Association. WELLINGTON, May 13. The fojlowing Wellington players have been nominated for places in the North Island teamßacks—G. Spencer (Melrose), Wallace (Poneke), Mitchinson (Poneke), Roberts (Oriental). Forwards-Lisle (Oriental), Wilson (Athletic), J. Spencer (Melrose), Byrne, Wright and Cross (I'etone).
Greytown and Gladstone Seniors played a drawn game at Gladstone on Saturday, there b6ing no score. Grej town had their full team with the exception of P. Rogers. The .game could not be taken as an exhioition of first-class football, and the result represents , the merits of the respective teams. In the Gladstone team there are thirteen Maoris. Martinhorough defeated Feathers ton, at Feathers ton, on Saturday, by 23 pois ;s to 3. Several players were injur. in the match. At the annual meeting of the South African Rugby Board a letter was received from the New Zealand Union inviting a South African team to visit New Z:aland. It was suggested that the letter should be acknowledged, and that the New Zealand Rugby Union should be informed that the Board not consider the possibility cf a tour for some time to come. The Griqualand West delegates took exception, and moved that a copy of the letter should be sent to each Union, asking them to instruct their delegates on the point, and this was finally adopted. During the course of the KaikoraiAlhambra Rugby match, played at Dunedin on Saturday, two brothers named McLeod, both playing at five-eighth, met with accidents, one having his collarbone dislocated and the other spraining an ankle.
PROPOSED PROFESSIONAL TEAM. By Telegraph—Press Association. WANGANUI, May 13. At a meeting of the Wanganui Rugby Union a motion was passed strongly disapproving of any suggestion of sending a team of New Zealand footballers to England to play teams of the Northern Union there.
