CHRISTCHURCH SUPREME COURT.

By Telegraph—Press Association, CHRISTCHURCH, May 13. At the Supreme Court, to-day,. Thomas Coogan, for breaking and entering, was sentenced to twelve months' imprisonment. Walter Lewis Smith, for assaulting a girl on the Waikare, on March 29th, and robbing her of £3 3s 6d, was sentenced to three years' hard labour. The accused had several sentences for assault in Australia. Andrew Edward Ward was found guilty of obtaining sums of £5 and £l4 from a woman by false pretences. As there was another indictment against the accused, the Judge deferred passing; sentence. The Grand Jury found no bill in the cases of manslaughter against William Barnard Rhodes Moorhouse and Edith Matheson Malzard.
