BLOWN TO SEA. Received May 13, 9.37 a.m. PERTH, May 13. The steamer Kanowna picked up three Italian fishermen near Albany. They had been blown out to sea during a gale, without food, water* or a compass. They had been four days at sea when they were rescued.
WATER CONSERVATION. Received May 13, 9.37^'a.m. MELBOURNE, May 13. Mr Swinburne, V ictorian Minister for Agriculture, has announced that the Government intended to spend £300,000 annually during the next six years to provide reservoirs in country districts.
PENNY POSTAGE. Received May 13, 10.6 a.m. SYDNEY, May 13. The Postmaster-General (Mr Austin Chapman) intends at an eariy stage of the session to introduce a Bill authorising a penny post and making the postage [on books and magazines uniform. He also hopes to give some kind of perference to the magazines and papers of Australia.
