THE IMPERIAL CONFERENCE.
DR. JAMESON'S VIEWS. A UNITED EMPIRE. Received May 13, 7.40 a.m. LONDON, May 12. , Dr. Jameson, Premier of Cape Colony, speaking at the reception in Edinburgh, regretted that the labours of the conference had not been so satisfactory as the Premiers had hoped. He was confident that the British people would eventually accept their views. A United Empire could, he added, only be achieved by a combination of the views of those favouring an idealistic and a materialistic Empire.
