LONDON, May 10. In order to enable them to fulfil their engagement in Edinburgh, today, the Privy Councillors, including Sir J. G. Ward, were sworn-iu yesterday.

ENTERTAINED BY THE KING. Received May 10, 7.25 a.m. LONDON, May 9. King Edward gave a dinner to the Premiers at Buckingham Palace. Among those present were the Prince of Wales, Dukes of Connaught, Fife, and Argyll, British Ministers and ex-Ministers, Mr Thos. Bent (Premier of Victoria), Sir William LyneJ (Commonwealth Minister for Traded and Customs), Lord Milner, the High Commissioners and the Agents-General. King Edward, during the banquet spoke as follows: —"I cannot leave this room without raising my glass to wish prosperity and happiness to the guests representing my oversea dominions. I give a hearty welcome to the distinguished statesmen here to-night. I trust they v/ill carry all away an agreeable impression of the Motherland, and I wish them 'God Speed' on their voyage home." The band of the Irish Guards played selections.
