A SERIOUS LIST.
SUPREME COURT CRIMINAL SESSIONS. There are fewer cases than usual set down for trial at the Supreme Court criminal sessions—-to be opened in Wellington next Monday morning —but the list includes a greater proportion of serious offences than is usual. Three capital offences are included. The session will open at 10.30 a.m., before Mr Justice Cooper. The list and the offences alleged are as follow:—Claude Page, Wellington, murder; William Plain, Wellington, indecency;' Harold Burridge, Wellington, carnal knowledge; Thos. Wallace, alias Williams, alias McGowan, Wellington, conspiracy to defraud; Elizabeth Buckmaster, alias Sylvester, Wellington, theft from person (two charges); Matilda Morris, Otaki, murder; Richard Joseph Hicks and William Frederick Henderson, Wellington, attempt to procure abortion; George Ernest Kelly,Wellington, rogue and vagabond; Charles Henry Higginson and Emily Higginson, Greytown, causing death of an infant; Ada Smith, Dannevirke, receiving stolen property.
