MASTERTON WOOL, SKIN AND HIDE SALES.

Messrs Levin and 1 Co., Ltd., report as follows:—We held our monthly sale of wool, skins, hides and tallow, yesterday, offering a quantity of bale and bag wool, and 1,500 sheepskins, 100 hides and a fair lot of tallow. There was the usual good attendance of buyers, and considering the lower condition of the Home markets prices realised were on a satisfactory level. The first lot of this season's crutchings were offered yesterday, and realised 6Jd for good quality. This is considerably lower than the opening price for last year's crutchings, but as this class of wool realises very badly on the Engilsh markets it is impossible to expect anything like last year's local prices to be repeated here this season. Skins: Woolly crossbreds B|d to BJd, half and quarter woolly 8d to B£d, pelts and short wools 7d to 7£d, dead skins s£d to 7d, lamb skins 8d to B£d.
