MR HOGG, M.H.R., AND THE TAILORESSES.
(To the Editor.) Sir',—Mr Hogg, who has been elected M.H.R. by the. votes of the workers, has endeavoured to be funny by sneering at the Wellington Tailoresses' Union; the, attempt at, levity was abortive, and has only ended in Mr Hogg being offensive. To the casual reader it would appear that the members of |a Tailors', Tailoresses', or any otner Union should be excellent judges of the labour laws under which they earn their living. Members of those Unions have possibly worked in many parts of the world and under {different conditions of labour, and it is quite possible that theygare very capable of passing an intelligent opinion on the labour laws of tae world. To the casual reader it would appear that Mr Hogg, with his many years of Parliamentary life and nis limited practical knowledge of Union or other labour, is absolutely no authority on the labour laws of the world ov even of this colony. . And to every reader it is abundantly clear that Mr Hogg has dealt an unjust and uncalled-for insult to the member's of a Wellington Union.—Yours, etc., UNION;
