A BARQUE ASHORE. Received May 6, 10 a.m. MELBORNE, May 6. Advices have been received that the barque Crompton, bound from Melbourne to Queenstown,jiwih 2,700 tons of wheat, has been beached at Queenstown. Her position is critical, and her decks are awash at high water.

UNAVAILING SIGNALS. Received May 6, 10 a.m. ADELAIDE, May 6. The pilot launch went out to warn the Port Chalmers, which struck the submerged wrecks of the Norma and Jessie Darling, but her signals were not noticed, or were disregarded till it was too late. The steamer's plates were rent for ten feet from the stern below the water-line. The fore-peak is full of water.
