FOOTBALL.
Owing to Carterton being unable to get a team away, the senior ' match between Maaterton and Carterton, which was to have been played to-morrow, has been abandoned. In order that both Masterton teams will get as much practice as possible, it has been decided to pit the juniors against the seniors, and give the members of each team an opportunity of playing for their places. All* players are requested to be in attendance. A meeting of the Management Committee of the Red Star Football 'Club will be held in the Occidental Hotel to-morrow evening at 7.30 •o'clock. .The following will represent Red .Stars against Greytown, to-morrow, in Fraser's Paddock (opposite the School) :—Wing, Darvill, McLachlan, ' v try, Dorsett, Ladner, Chambers, Spring, Norman, Scorrar, Collett, Corbett, Fulton, Wickens, Chamberlain, Power, and McKenzie. The following team has been selected to represent Masterton Juniors against Masterton Seniors, on the Showgrounds, to-morrow afternoon : -Fullback, Phillips; threequarters, Hawke, Sowman, W. Harding; five-eighths, Dunn; half, Selby; wings, Daniell'andHanley; forwards, * Late, Miller, Hounslow, MacMahon, 'Lmgdon, "'ichards and Mcllattie. Energenci 1 J Forward, P. Lett; back, R. Williams. Trie practice which was to be hold by members of the Masterton Club in the Boxing Hall, on Wednesday evening," had to be postponed mowing to the unfavourable state of the weather. Arrangements l ave v been made to hold the practy:e this evening, and all members of the club are requested to Attend. ' With reference to the proposed professional team for England, two or three players in Masterton have been approached with a view to securing their services, but they have declined to have anything to do with the project.
