Application was made to Mr Justice Button, at Wellington, yesterday morning, on behalf of the New Zealand Law Society, for an order nisi to remove the name of Robert Moncrief Cuthbertson, formerly of .Christchurch, New Zealand, but now of South Africa, ftom the roll of barristers and solicitors of the Supreme Court of New Zealand. The grounds upon which the application was based were that the solicitor had been convicted in the year 1905, in the Orange River Colony, for the crime of theft, and sentenced to six months' imprisonment. In August, 1905, his name was removed from the roll of sol ? eitors of Orange River Colony, in which colony he had been admitted as an attorney on his New Zealand qualifications as a solicitor. Mr Justice Button granted a rule nisi calling upon Cuthbertson to show cause, within sixty days after service, why he should hot be struck off the rolls.
