INSPECTION BY ADMIRAL FAWKES.

By Telegraph—Press Association. WESTPORT, April 30. Vice-Admiral Fawkes made a round of inspection of the Westport harbour works, yesterday, and in the afternoon visited the Westport Stockton Coal Company's mine, and was a guest of the company at a dinner. He afterwards inspected the Westport Coal Company's binns at Granity, and went on to Denniston, where he stayed last night, with the intention of going over the Ironbridge section of the mine this morning. While out viewing the harbour works the Admiral was impressed with the possibilities of the large bay on the west of the Buller, and enquired whether it was not a more practicable harbour than that proposed at Port Elizabeth.
