Y.M.C.A.

A meeting of the Board of Management of the Y.M.C.A. was held last evening, there being present:-? Messrs P. L. Hollings (chairman), S. Earee, W. Kemp, E. Burrows, O. C. Feist, C. H. Anderson,, A. Hendry and Rev. A. T. Thompson. Sixteen new members were elected. After a long discussion with regard to the purchase of a billiard table, the Rev. Thompson and Messrs Hollings, Anderson and Earee were appointed a committee to go into the matter and purchase a billiard table, provided that the necessary funds were forthcoming from the players. Rev. A. M. Johnson was elected a member of the Board, vice Mr D. E. Parton, resigned. A vote of thanks was accorded to Mr Parton for his past services. The report of the Membership Committee showed that members' subscriptions were coming in very freely. The Village Fair Committee reported that the canvass for funds was meeting with success, and that all the necessary arrangements were being made to make the gathering a successful one. It was decided to engage the Town Hall as well as the Drill Hall for the Fair. It was reported that a concert was to be held in the Town Hall, on May 16th, in aid of the Y.M.C.A. It was decided to invite the members of the Board to attend the opening of the Gymnasium, which is to take place this evening.
