HOCKEY.
A match was played on the Schoolground, on Saturday, between teams representing the Masterton and Carterton High Schools. A good game resulted in a win for Masterton by 2 goals to 1. Miss Jackson scored the two goals for Masterton. and Miss Ashton scored for Carterton. Though Masterton proved the winners, the visitors showed better combination. The home players were good individually, but lacked combination. Misses Jackson, Berry and McKenzie showed good form for the Masterton School, •while Carterton's most prominent players were Misses Ashton, D. and R. Armstrong, Moore, and Fairbrother. Mr F. Richards was referee. After the match, the visitors entertained at afternoon tea in the Schoolroom.
