TRUST LANDS TRUST.
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Masterton Trust Lands Trustees was held last evening, and was attended by Messrs T. B. Michell (chairman), J. Hessey, and T. Wagg. An apology for absence was received from Mr J. A. Renall. The Treasurer reported a dr. balance of £ll6 18s Bd. Accounts amounting to £2O 8s 9d were passed for payment. Mr E. Feist wrote resigning his position as a Trustee as he would be absent from the colony for some months. The resignation was accepted with regret. Miss R. Messenger wrote applying for a grant for herself and Miss F. Kay to assist them in their studies at Victoria College. It was decided "to notify the applicants that the matter was outside the intention of the Trust." It was stated that the applicants had misunderstood the terms of the grants. The Chairman and Secretary were given power to act with reference to the payment of rent due by the Y.M.C.A. The question of letting and renovating the shop in Queen Street, lately occupied by Mr J. F. Palamontain, was left in the hands of the Chairman and Secretary, with power to act.
