OPAKI RIFLE CLUB.
The Opaki Rifle Club brought their trophy shooting competitions for the season to a close, last Saturday, when a match of fifteen shots at the 700 yds range' was fired. The scores were as follow: —G. Hyde, scr, 65; j. Henry, scr, 63; A. J. Cameron,: scr, 62; A. Dawes, scr, 59; John McKenzie, scr, 58; J. Turnbull, scr, 66; W. Feast, Scr, 55; R. J.King, scr, 52; W. J. Welch, scr, 50; W. Winslade, scr, 49; J. McHattie, scr, 48; H. Mawley, scr, 48; D. McCalmont, 2, 48; J. McKenzie, 5, 48; J. Sutherland, 5, 48. SPne highest ! scores in the grand 1 aggregate for the season are as follow:—G, Hyde 676, J. Turnbull 666, 3. McKenzie 652, W. Winslade, 652, A. J. Cameron, 646, R. J. King 644, A, Dawes 634. In winning the grand aggregate, G. Hyde also wins the gold medal and holds the club championship shield and Captain Welch's clip for a year. In. the aggregate for two shoots at 200 yds, 500 yds, and 700 yds and fifteen shots at 700 yds, A. J. Cameron was first with a score of 250, and wins Mr H. Williams' rose-bowl and Messrs McKenzie Bros.' trophy. In the aggregate for three shoots at 500 yds, 600 yds, and 700 yds, two shoots at 600 yds and 700 yds, and fifteen shots at 700 yds, G. Hyde was first with a score of 494, and wins Levin and Co.'s cup. Ths competitions in the 'B" Class • are not yet completed.
