SECRET REBATES.
ENORMOUS FINES
Received April 16, 7.53 a.m. NEW YORK, April 15.
The District Court at Chicago convicted the Standard Oil Company, Indiana, of receiving secret rebates from the Chicago Alton Railroad Company, on various counts, which render the company liable to maximum fines aggregating thirty mil-* lion dollars. An appeal has been lodged.
