THE CHAPLEAU RAILWAY DISASTER.

Received April 15, 9.10 a.m. LONDON, April 14. The victims of the railwayjdisaster at Chapleau, Ontario, were immigrants brought to Canada under the auspices of the Salvation Army. Many were pinned under the burning mass. Several passengers entered blazing cars and rescued numerous injured persons. James Gibson, late of the Twelfth Lancers, who is settling in the West, plunged into a burning car with a handkerchief over his face, and rescued a woman who was pinned under a seat. She discovering that her baby was missing, rushed back and perished.
