FOOTBALL.
At the annual meeting of the Auckland Rugby Union an amendment to the sick and accident fund was carried, providing that an injured player ( be allowed free medicines and hospital and dental expenses, in addition to the payment of £1 per week for ten weeks, as weir, as medical attention as aready provided for under the rules. The profit last season amounted to £912. The Red Star Club held a successful practice on the Showgrounds on Saturday, sevsral members of the Mas- 1 terton Club joining in the game. Good form was shown by Darvill, Dorsett, Wrigley, Wing, Collett, Norman, Wickens, Riley and Langley. A meeting of the Y.M.C.A. Football Club "will be held in the Y.M.C.A. Rooms, this evening, when all members are requested to attend.
