Received April 15, 1 a.m. : SYDNEY, April 14. At Farmer's Baths, Dave Billington swam threequarters of a mile in 17min 36 2-ssec, establishing a world's record. The previous best record was 18min 7sec. Cecil Healy covered 100 yards in 57sec, lopping three-fifths of a second off the previous record.
