HOCKEY NOTES.
(By Full-back). Hockey has thoroughly "taken on" in the Wairarapa. A large number of Thursday footballers are now playing the game, and this to sonic extent may account for the lack of Thursday footballers in Masterton this season. There is a prospect ot six teams entering for the Major Cup Competition from Masterton, while there will also be teams from Carterton and Eketahuna. W.F.CA. will in all probability place two teams in the field; there is lilcelihccd of Kin Kaha also entering A and B teams. The two Club:; that have been formed in Masterton this season, the United and Knox Church Clubs, ghe promise ox putting up a good fight in the competition. The members of the Knox Church Club, who turned out to practice latt Thursday, shaped well for new players, and with practice and combination should prove a formidable Club. The United Club (last year's Kia Kaha B team) have several new and capable players in their ranks, and intend to make a big bid for the championship this sensor. In the Hughes' Shield Competition (ladies) Masterton will most likely have six teams. I understand that the Huia and Glengarry Clubs each iitend to enter two teams and the High School and Garry Owen ot.e ea;h.
