The Central Committee of the German Trade Unions reports that millions of workers are not receiving a living wage. In 27 out of 66 organised trades the average wage is below 3s a clay, including the clothing industry (representing 242,000 workers), the Saxon textile industry' (225,000* workers), North and South German Textile Unions (244,000 workers), tobacco industry (150,000 workers). The Socialist paper Voerwarts declares that two and a half millions of skilled labourers are earning between Is 9d and 3s a day.
