LONDON, April 5.
The Times' New York correspondent states that President Roosevelt considers that the Harriman affair is the beginning of a campaign which has been organised with a view of, firstly, prejudicing the legislation which the President intends to bring in at an early date to check the overcapitalisation of railways; secondly, of assuring the preponderance of the magnates at the next National Convention. R'eut?r reports authoritatively that it is stated at White House that the so-called Hearst-Harriman-Rockefel-ler combination has raised five million dollars for a campaign against President Roosevelt. , NEW YORK, April 5. Mr Harrirnan's late stenographer, F. Hill, has been arrested, on a charge of selling to the New York World Mr Harrirnan's letter, concerning President Roosevelt.
