THE NEW ZEALAND ASSOCIATION.
(From Our Own Correspondent)
, LONDON, February 16. I The first annual general meeting j of the New Zealand Association took place at the Club Rooms, Victoria Street, on Wednesday, January 30th. The motion to admit ladies to membership, and ail the other motions brought up by the committee, were carried unanimously. The Hon. W. P. Reeves presided, and expressed satisfaction with the progress made. He said they had started with a good membership, and, thanks to that and to generous donations the financial result of the year might be taken to be satisfactory. A good deal of the expenses incurred last year, such as furnishing, would not be recurrent, and next year's expenses ought to be smaller. At the same time, he pointed qut that it was quite clear that the membership of the club ought to be increased, and he certainly agreed with the committee's proposal to alter the rules so as to admit ladies as members. If they could get about sixty lady members the financial success of the undertaking would be assured, and the Association made even more attractive than at present. Dr. Angus McNab and Mr F. H. Nuding were elected on the committee in place of Messrs Sorrell and Godsall, who retired, the officers for the ensuing year now being: -Presi dent, the Hon. W, Pember Reeves; vice-presidents, Sir Montague Nelson, K.0.M.G., Sir Lambert H. Ormsby, Kt., M.D., F.R.C.5.1., Hon. Richard Oliver, Professor E. E. Rutherford F.R.S., and Mr Walter Kennaway, G.M.G.; Commitee of Management, Messrs A. S. Cook, C. Hale, R. H. Hooper, J. A. Mason, F. H. Nuding, C. W. Palliser, W. C. Robinson, J. S. Ross, E. T. At a subsequent meeting of the General Committee, Dr. T. W. Parkinson was elected Chairman for 1907.
