WEDDING.
HAND-NEWTON—ORBELL. A quiet, but pretty wedding, took place at Holy Trinity Church, Stratford, on Wednesday morning, when Miss Eleanor Beatrice Orbell, fourth daughter of the late Mr Frank Orbell, of Manawatu, and daughter of Mrs Orbell, Brooks' Road, Stratford, was married to Mr W. G. Hand-Newton, of Masterton, eldest son of Mrs Newton, of Christchurch. The bride, who wa3 charmingly attired in bridal arrav, carrying the usual bridal bouquet, was attended by her sister, Miss Florence Orbell .and Miss Winnif red Hubbard, as bridesmaids. The groom (who is a grandson of Sir Charles Newton and brother-in-law to Professor Rutherford) l>as many friends in the Stratford district. Mr C. Jackson acted as best man to him, The ceremony was performed by the Rev. C. A. B. Watson, and Mr Kernahan. organist, played the "Wedding March," as the guests left the church. Those.present were friends or immediate connections of the contracting parties.' At the conclusion of the ceremony, the guests were driven to the residence of the bride's mother, where the wedding breakfast was partaken of. ~ ,
