STOCK MARKET.
Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., held their fortnightly sale at the. Pahiatun yards on Tuesday. Owing to the holidays entries did not come forward in advertised numbers. Only about 500 sheep were penned, but cattle were represented by about 400 head. Competition for these was better than has been experienced for a considerable time, and all steers were quitted but heifers were duU of sale and most were passed in. Good 2£year steers reached 755, others 575, 18-month and 2-year steers 52s 6d, 12 to 15-month steers 32s 6d to 45s 6d, good yearling heifers 30s, weaners 7s 6d to 15s, store cows 30s to 545, store lambs (shorn) 8s 9d, 2-tooth Romney rams 2:?gns, Lincolns Signs.
