The investments through the machine amounted to £10,032, against £15,611 for the second day last year. CANTERBURY RACES. By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, April 2. The Canterbury Jockey Club's autumn meeting concluded in fine weather. The investments totalled ,£17,736, an increase of £7,897. The winning double, in the Easter and Autumn Handicaps, paid £4B 2s. Although the racing was interesting, the contest for the Challenge Stakes wa.« spoilt, to a large extent, by Achilles falling. The stewards held an enquiry into the circumstance, but took no action.
