Camorian was soon out in the front with Tui Cakobau and Uranium next a couple of lengths in front of a bunched field, while Waipuna, Aoelus and Master Delaval were lying a long way back. The first-mentioned three entered the straight locked together. Once in the home run Waipuna put in a great run on the rails, and won a splendid race by half a length from Uranium, with Aeolus, who finished very fast, a neck away third. CANTtf/RBURtf RACESv CHRISTCHURCH, Aprii 1. The weather was unfavourable for the opening of the Canterbury Jockey Club's' Autumn Meeting. Just aa the racing, began heavy showers fell, and continued intermittently till half-way through the afternoon. The? going was consequeoiy heavy, but the racing, was fairly interesting, though the principal handicap event was won from end to end. The attendance was good, and speculation brisk, the amount invested being £18,221, in addition to &VZ6B on the double machine. Results:.—•
